RAMALLAH, August 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa received on Tuesday at his office in Ramallah the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Reem Al-Abali Radovan, and briefed her on the latest developments in light of the ongoing war of extermination and starvation against our people in the Gaza Strip, as well as the assaults by the Israeli occupation army and settlers, and the annexation plans in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Mustafa stressed the urgent need to intensify international efforts and pressure to stop the genocidal war and the starvation against the Palestinian people in Gaza, reopen border crossings with the Strip, and allow the unhindered entry of humanitarian and relief aid to meet the urgent needs amid the catastrophic humanitarian situation. He warned of Israeli occupation plans to reoccupy Gaza City and forcibly displace more than one million Palestinians.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the readiness of the State of Palestine to assume its full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip once the Israeli aggression is brought to an end, as well as to begin implementing recovery and reconstruction plans in cooperation with the World Bank and international partners, and to reunify Gaza with the West Bank under one authority, one government, and one weapon.
Mustafa also reviewed the situation in the West Bank, as the occupation government continues with colonial annexation and expansion plans, along with the daily assaults by the occupation army and settlers on Palestinian villages, towns, cities, and refugee camps.
He further stressed that Israel’s continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues exacerbates the financial crisis and limits the Government’s ability to fulfill its obligations toward our people and sustain vital sectors.
Mustafa discussed with Radovan the importance of strengthening joint cooperation between Palestine and Germany on various levels, particularly Germany’s participation in the Gaza Reconstruction Conference to be hosted by Egypt, and the donors’ meeting to be held in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. He expressed appreciation for Germany’s continued support for Palestine and the distinguished relations between the two countries.
For her part, Radovan affirmed her country’s position calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the entry of aid to confront the catastrophic humanitarian situation there, and the rejection of colonial expansion, annexation plans, and settler violence in the West Bank. She also affirmed support for the Gaza reconstruction plan once the aggression ceases, and for the Government’s efforts in development and institutional reform.
The meeting was attended by Minister of National Economy Mohammad Al-Amour, Minister of Social Development and Relief Samah Hamad, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Estephan Salameh, and a number of German MPs.
