SALFIT, July 26, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists established a new colonial outpost on the lands of Deir Istiya town, in the central West Bank province of Salfit, on Sunday.

Nadhmi Salman, an activist with the anti-settlement movement, told WAFA that colonists gathered in the Al-Dhuhur area north of the town and carried out land leveling works in a move aimed at creating a new colonial reality and expanding at the expense of Palestinian-owned lands.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the first half of 2026 witnessed a rise in violations by Israeli colonists, including the establishment of new colonial outposts, attacks on land and property, and targeting of trees, as part of efforts to impose facts on the ground.

The commission said colonists established 42 colonial outposts on Palestinian-owned lands during that period, most of them agricultural outposts, including four built in areas classified as Area B.

The outposts were distributed across several governorates, including 13 in Hebron, nine in Ramallah, eight in Nablus, and four in Bethlehem, among others, as part of continued efforts by Israeli colonists to expand control over Palestinian lands under the protection of Israeli forces.
