RAMALLAH, July 26, 2026 (WAFA) — Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, warned on Sunday of the escalation of attacks carried out by Israeli colonist groups against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank.

The attacks resulted in the burning of two mosques and a home, assaults on residents, destruction of property, and the establishment of two new colonial outposts, while Israeli forces continued raids into cities, villages and refugee camps, carried out widespread arrest campaigns, closed roads and tightened restrictions.

Abu Rudeineh said the attacks across the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, are a direct result of inciting calls by Israeli leaders to burn Palestinian land, displace Palestinians and expand colonial outposts. He held the far-right Israeli government fully responsible, saying it seeks to ignite the region to advance its aggressive plans.

Abu Rudeineh called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate action and pressure the Israeli government to halt its attacks and the violence of colonists, and to provide protection for the Palestinian people.

He warned that limiting the response to statements of condemnation would allow such attacks to continue and could lead to a wider escalation across the region.

The presidential spokesperson also urged the US administration to act to compel Israeli authorities to stop their destructive policies, warning that the alternative would be further destruction, wars and increased violence.
