OIC condemns arson attacks on two mosques by Israeli colonists, urges international action

RAMALLAH, July 26, 2026 (WAFA) — The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the ongoing crimes and acts of terrorism carried out by extremist settler gangs in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the arson attacks last night on two mosques in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, and the village of Kur, south of Tulkarm, where racist and inflammatory graffiti was also sprayed on the walls.

In a statement, the OIC affirmed that this crime is part of a broader settler-colonial and aggressive campaign targeting Palestinian civilians, carried out with the participation and protection of the Israeli forces. This campaign encompasses all of the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including East Jerusalem.

The OIC warned that targeting mosques and attacking holy sites constitutes a grave violation of the sanctity of places of worship, freedom of religion and belief, and human values and principles that guarantee the protection and preservation of holy sites.

It cautioned against the dangers of igniting religious conflict and escalating hate speech and racism against the Palestinian people.

It called upon the international community and relevant international institutions to condemn these crimes and to take urgent action to implement deterrent measures to stop the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, including holding accountable and pursuing legal and legislative action against colonial entities and institutions associated with the Israeli occupation and its illegal system.
