RAMALLAH, July 26, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists  established a new colonial outpost on Palestinian-owned land on Sunday in the Tel al-Asur area, east of Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate.

Local sources told WAFA that dozens of colonists set up a tent in the area and brought in water tanks and storage containers, in an apparent attempt to establish a new settlement outpost on the site.

They added that the Tel al-Asur area, located between the towns of al-Mughayyir and Deir Jarir, has witnessed an ongoing escalation in colonist attacks, including the establishment of settlement outposts and the seizure of Palestinian land as part of continued settlement expansion.

The new outpost in Tel al-Asur is the third established by colonists. Earlier today, colonists set up a new outpost on land belonging to  Deir Istiya, north of Salfit, and another on land belonging to  Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah.

According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the first half of 2026 witnessed an escalation in colonist violations, including the establishment of new settlement outposts, attacks on Palestinian property, and the destruction of trees, all part of a policy to create facts on the ground. Colonists established 42 settlement outposts on Palestinian-owned land, mostly pastoral outposts, including four in areas classified as Area B.

The outposts were distributed across the governorates of Hebron (13 outposts), Ramallah (9 outposts), Nablus (8 outposts), Bethlehem (4 outposts), and other areas.
