Four Palestinians detained from West Bank

TULKAREM, Friday, December 06, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained today overnight at least four Palestinians from the West Bank districts of Tulkarem and Bethlehem, confirmed security sources.

Israeli forces carried out a raid into Bal‘a, a town to the northeast of Tulkarem city, where they detained two Palestinians after ransacking their houses.

Meanwhile, an Israeli military raid was conducted in Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem city, resulting in the detention of two others.

During the raid, soldiers thoroughly searched a refugee’s house, and seized cash and jewelry.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians -- including numerous women and children -- are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
