NEW YORK, September 27, 2026 (WAFA) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng called for the Palestinian issue to be returned as soon as possible to the proper track of a two-state solution.

Han made the remarks in an address delivered on Saturday evening during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Addressing international conflicts and disputes, Han said disagreements and conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and consultations, while unilateral military actions that violate the UN Charter and the authority of the Security Council should be opposed.

He called on major powers to shoulder their responsibilities, particularly in maintaining international peace and security, and to set an example by respecting international rules, upholding the rule of law and "doing the right thing."

In this context, Han reaffirmed China's respect for the sovereignty and security of Middle Eastern countries, including the Gulf states.

He also called for advancing the reconstruction of Gaza based on the principle of "Palestine being governed by Palestinians."
