RAMALLAH, September 27, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation authorities have issued a military order targeting 56.026 dunums of land in the village of Kafr Malek, northeast of Ramallah, ordering the removal of wild vegetation and the uprooting of olive trees under the pretext of taking “security measures.”

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said the order targets Palestinian-owned land adjacent to Route 449 south of the village. Landowners are required to carry out the removal within seven days of a field tour to be organized with them, while the occupation authorities are authorized to carry it out if they fail to do so. The order also allows landowners to file objections within seven days following the tour.

The commission said the uprooting of olive trees at the site would harm an agricultural resource for the landowners and impose further restrictions on the use of their land under the pretext of securing the road.

With the addition of the Kafr Malek order, the number of Israeli military orders issued since the beginning of 2026 for the removal of trees and vegetation has risen to 55, targeting a total area of 2,372 dunums.

This compares with 47 such orders targeting 1,613 dunums throughout 2025. The area targeted since the beginning of 2026 has therefore exceeded the total targeted during all of 2025 by 759 dunums, according to the commission.
