RAMALLAH, September 27, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency affirmed today, Sunday, that the statements attributed to Mohammad Shtayyeh, which have been circulating recently, concerning Syria, are completely rejected and do not in any way reflect the official Palestinian position or its established policy.

The Presidency emphasized the depth and strength of the fraternal and historical relations that bind the Palestinian and Syrian peoples and leaderships, affirming Palestine's constant commitment to strengthening joint coordination between the two countries and their presidents on issues of common interest.

President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his deep appreciation for President Ahmed al-Sharaa and his courageous and unwavering fraternal stances in support of the Palestinian people's struggle and their just cause.

The President also commended al-Sharaa's efforts to elevate Syria's standing, consolidate security and stability within the country, and achieve its economic revival.
