RAMALLAH, September 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities today revoked the diplomatic status of Dutch diplomats serving in Palestine, in response to measures taken by the Dutch government against Israeli colonial settlements.

The decision came in response to measures taken by the Dutch government against Israel, including a ban on the import and trade of products from settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.

The Israeli occupation authorities notified the Dutch Embassy that Dutch diplomats in Ramallah must return the diplomatic credentials issued to them by Israel within seven days, after which their diplomatic immunities will expire.

The Dutch government began implementing a comprehensive ban last week on the import, marketing and sale of settlement products, prohibiting the entry of products originating from settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

According to a statement issued by Dutch Customs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the decision, which entered into force on Tuesday, applies to commercial imports by companies as well as goods carried in the personal luggage of individual travelers.

It also prohibits Dutch companies operating abroad from providing intermediary services or otherwise participating in trade involving settlement products.
