RAMALLAH, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli media circulated a video today documenting the incident of Israeli occupation soldiers sexually assaulting a detainee from Gaza in the Sde Teiman detention center.

The Israeli Channel 12 released a footage of the internal cameras inside Sde Teiman detention center, which is under the responsibility of the occupation army, of the assault on the detainee whose identity has not yet been revealed.

The video documentation, whose date and how it reached the channel were not specified, shows a number of occupation soldiers choosing a detainee from among more than 30 detainees who were lying on the ground in the detention center yard with their eyes blindfolded.

The soldiers are then documented taking him to a corner in the yard while using shields to hide what they did.

The Israeli Channel 12 said, "It is clear that they were aware of the security cameras and were trying to hide their actions with shields."

"Hours later, the detainee was later transferred to the hospital, bleeding, where his condition was described as critical. The channel added, "The injury was caused by the insertion of an object."  

Right-wing Israelis, including ministers and representatives, demanded the release of the attacking soldiers, describing them as heroes.  

Recently, human rights reports indicated the deterioration of conditions in the occupation's prisons since October 7, particularly inside Sde Teiman detention center, which has witnessed torture and sexual assault against detainees from Gaza.
