HEBRON, October 26, 2026 (WAFA) – The number of families affected by the ongoing Israeli aggression in parts of Hebron city since last Friday has risen to 619, while around 3,971 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from their homes and 85 detained, according to official figures.
Riyad Khamis, spokesperson for the Follow-up, Support and Relief Committee, told WAFA that the number of affected families and displaced residents continues to rise, with the number of families registered with the committee exceeding three times the figure recorded on the first day of the aggression.
He explained that 283 families have been forced to stay with relatives in various areas, while 266 families have been unable to find safe accommodation. Another 47 families have sought shelter elsewhere, while 23 families are staying in rented homes.
He noted that around 3,971 Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes, particularly in the areas of Deir Baha and al-Jilda, while hundreds of residents remain besieged inside their homes in neighboring neighborhoods and are prevented from leaving.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society announced that Israeli forces have detained 85 Palestinians, including a girl, since the start of the aggression in Hebron Governorate. More than 250 others have been held and subjected to field interrogation.
The Follow-up, Support and Relief Committee in Hebron has begun distributing the first batch of aid and essential supplies to affected and displaced families, while continuing round-the-clock relief efforts, coordinating assistance, and assessing property damage.
Israeli forces continue to close off the areas of al-Jilda and Deir Baha after forcibly compelling families to evacuate large parts of both areas, causing mounting damage to residents, businesses, and property.
The forces have also imposed closures at the entrances to Hebron city, its towns, and refugee camps, preventing Palestinians from crossing the closed gates. Restrictions are particularly concentrated at the entrances to the towns of Idhna, Bani Na'im, and Halhul, as well as al-Fawwar and al-Arroub refugee camps, alongside other villages and towns across the governorate.
According to information from the governorate, Israeli occupation forces assaulted Palestinians, smashed their vehicles, and used Palestinian vehicles to block roads and intersections.
In a related development, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 272 attacks by Israeli occupation forces and colonists in Hebron Governorate during September, including 122 carried out by colonists, according to a statement issued on Sunday.
The commission also recorded 19 demolition operations targeting 91 structures in the governorate during the same month, making Hebron the West Bank governorate with the highest number of structures demolished during that period.
It added that these incidents reflect mounting pressure on Palestinians in terms of housing, employment, movement, and access to property, alongside the expansion of control over sites and roads. The repercussions of demolitions, forced evacuations, and closures have extended to neighborhoods and businesses beyond the areas directly targeted.
Hebron Governorate is experiencing a deterioration in humanitarian and living conditions amid continued military measures and closures, which restrict residents' movement, disrupt their daily lives, and intensify the burden on affected and displaced families.
