RAMALLAH, October 27, 2026 (WAFA) — Several Palestinians and foreign activists suffered tear gas inhalation on Tuesday morning during an attack by Israeli settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, as they harvested olives on their mountainous farmland in the town of Beit Ur al-Tahta, west of Ramallah.
The settlers attacked Palestinians on land they had seized months earlier, preventing the owners from accessing it. The attack also targeted foreign activists who had come to support Palestinian residents and help them reach their land to harvest their olive crop.
The assault involved physical attacks on Palestinians and activists, as well as the firing of tear gas canisters and live ammunition toward them. A group of foreign activists was forced to leave the area, while another group was detained, amid heightened tensions.
Since the early morning, Israeli settlers have repeatedly attacked Palestinian farmers harvesting olives in the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, and the villages of Deir Jarir and Ein Yabrud, east of the city.
According to figures documented by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission as of October 4, Israeli forces and settlers had carried out a total of 62,916 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property across the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, since October 7, 2023. Of these, 48,174 were carried out by Israeli forces and 14,742 by settlers.
