HEBRON, October 26, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued on Monday to tighten military measures and close off areas in the city of Hebron, displacing nearly 4,000 Palestinian civilians, according to local sources.
They said that the occupying forces detained two Palestinians as they traveled along the road leading to the Ain Deir Bahha area and four young men after assaulting them in the closed-off area in the city center.
They added that the occupation forces blocked the alternative entrance to the al-Fawwar refugee camp with earth mounds. They also seized a vehicle belonging to the Hebron Municipality and assaulted its crew while they were distributing aid to Palestinians besieged in the Jallada area.
The gun-toting soldiers continue to seal off the Jallada and Deir Bahha areas after forcibly ordering families to evacuate large parts of them. The closures have resulted in extensive property damage, while making it increasingly difficult to deliver essential supplies to affected families.
They have sealed off the entrances to Hebron city, its towns and refugee camps, denying civilians passage even through closed gates. Restrictions are particularly concentrated at the entrances to the towns of Idhna, Bani Na'im and Halhul, as well as al-Fawwar and al-Arroub refugee camps.
According to the Hebron Governorate, the occupation forces assaulted civilians, smashed their vehicles and used Palestinian-plated vehicles to block roads and intersections.
Meanwhile, the number of families affected by Israel’s ongoing offensive in parts of Hebron since last Friday has risen to 619. Some 3,971 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from their homes, while 85 others have been detained.
Riyad Khamis, media spokesperson for the Hebron Follow-up, Support and Relief Committee, said the number of affected families and displaced people continues to rise amid the ongoing military onslaught and measures that prevent residents from reaching safe places and further exacerbate the humanitarian and living conditions across the governorate.
