Colonists attack olive harvesters in Beit Kahil as occupation forces restrict farmers’ access to their land

HEBRON, October 26, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists, backed by Israeli occupation forces, attacked olive harvesters on Monday in the village of Beit Kahil, northwest of Hebron, and attempted to assault several farmers and a homeowner.

The farmers identified among those targeted were Ahmad Salman al-Atawneh, his son Mohammed, and three of his grandchildren.

In a related incident, Israeli occupation forces prevented a member of the al-Skafi family, who lives in Hebron city, from reaching his home in the same area.

Meanwhile, colonists planted Israeli flags on land in Wadi al-Qaf area in Beit Kahil, northwest of Hebron.

In a related development, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 482 attacks targeting the olive harvest season from its start through Sunday, October 25, across nine governorates in the West Bank, according to a statement issued by the commission.

The commission explained that the attacks included assaulting farmers, preventing them from reaching their land, forcing them to leave, stealing crops and agricultural equipment, and damaging trees and property. It noted that these attacks coincided with measures by Israeli occupation forces restricting farmers’ access to their fields.

It added that targeting olive harvesters, particularly in areas adjacent to colonies and colonial outposts, limits Palestinian families’ ability to harvest and benefit from their crops and threatens their continued presence on their agricultural land.
