NABLUS, Friday, October 21, 2022 (WAFA) – Two Palestinians were shot and injured with rubber-coated metal bullets and several other suffocated as Israeli forces suppressed a rally calling for lifting the punitive tight military siege imposed on the city of Nablus for 11 consecutive days.
Witnesses and medical sources told WAFA Israeli forces attacked a rally held at Beit Furik checkpoint to the east of Nablus with rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canisters, shooting and injuring two youth and causing a number of people to suffocate due to tear gas inhalation,
Israeli forces reportedly prevented the Red Crescent Society ambulances from crossing the checkpoint, searched them, and held its crew. They also seized materials belonging to relief volunteers present at the scene.
Palestinians performed the Friday prayer at Huwwara and Beit Furik checkpoints as well as at Deir Sharaf junction, which is closed with earth mounds, as part of protest activities to break the siege imposed on the city for the 11th consecutive day.
