CAIRO, September 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi condemned on Sunday the racist and dangerous statements made by ministers in the Israeli occupation government regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.

In a press statement, Al-Yamahi affirmed that these statements clearly reveal a systematic Israeli project to uproot the Palestinian people from their land, liquidate their national cause, and forcibly impose a new demographic and geographic reality. He called on the Security Council and the international community to assume their legal, political, and moral responsibilities and to take immediate and decisive action to thwart any plans to displace the Palestinian people.

He stressed that the forced displacement of the Palestinian people constitutes a war crime, a crime against humanity, and a full-fledged act of ethnic cleansing. He added that transforming these calls into official policy or practical measures necessitates urgent and deterrent international action, not merely statements of condemnation and denunciation.

Al-Yamahi also affirmed that Gaza is not a land without a people, the Palestinian people are not a people to be displaced, and Palestine is not a land to be uprooted and confiscated. He stressed the Arab Parliament's categorical rejection of any plans aimed at emptying the Gaza Strip of its inhabitants or forcibly displacing them from their land under any pretext or guise.

He warned that the Israeli occupation government's continued promotion of displacement plans, in parallel with settlement construction, annexation, and the seizure of Palestinian lands, represents a blatant attempt to forcibly redraw the map of Palestine and impose the occupation as a permanent reality.

This threatens regional and international peace and security. He emphasized that international silence in the face of this does not constitute neutrality, but rather encourages the occupation to persist in its crimes and undermines the international legal system. Any attempt to implement this plan will present the international community with a crucial test of its commitment to international law and its ability to stop the crimes of displacement and ethnic cleansing.

Al-Yamahi affirmed that the Arab Parliament will continue its regional and international efforts to expose the plans of displacement and ethnic cleansing, and to mobilize international parliamentary support for the defense of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent and sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital. He stressed that peace cannot be built on displacement and uprooting, but rather on ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate national rights in accordance with international law.
