Occupation forces close road near Bethlehem, erect two checkpoints

BETHLEHEM, September 7, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces closed the road connecting Al-Arroub refugee camp and the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, with earth mounds on Monday.

A security source told WAFA that the occupation forces erected two military checkpoints; one under the Beit Ta’mar bridge, east of Bethlehem, and the other at the southern entrance to the town of Nahalin, west of the city, obstructing the movement of citizens and their vehicles.

The Bethlehem governorate is witnessing ongoing military intensification, including the erection of checkpoints and the closure of entrances to cities, towns, and villages with iron gates and earth mounds, hindering the movement of citizens and obstructing their access to their workplaces, educational institutions, and health facilities.
