Israeli decisions undermine Trump’s efforts and Palestinian state institutions
Ensuring continuity of government services in Gaza through coordinated administration
Commitment to ongoing coordination with Norway and partners to implement New York Declaration
OSLO, February 10, 2026 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas stated that the recent decisions of the Israeli government in the West Bank demand a decisive response from the U.S. administration and the international community, as they undermine international law, weaken the institutions of the Palestinian state and the two-state solution, and contradict previous efforts to achieve peace.
The President affirmed that Palestine is working to ensure the continued delivery of government services to the people of the Gaza Strip through effective coordination between Palestinian government institutions and the Palestinian Committee for Gaza Strip Administration during the transitional phase.
President Abbas conveyed deep appreciation for Norway’s courageous and principled positions, foremost among them its recognition of the State of Palestine, and its historic and leading role in supporting peace efforts since the Oslo Accords of 1993, including leadership of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC), as well as providing assistance to build Palestinian state institutions and humanitarian support to the Palestinian people.
President Abbas said that discussions with the Prime Minister addressed the latest developments in Palestine and the region, and ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two peoples and friendly countries.
The President also reviewed the recent Israeli government decisions in the West Bank, which aim to deepen the annexation of Palestinian lands, expand colonial settlements, target the city of Hebron and the Ibrahimi Mosque, in addition to colonists’ terrorism and the withholding of Palestinian funds exceeding four billion dollars.
“These serious violations require a decisive response from the U.S. administration and the international community, as they undermine President Trump’s efforts, violate international law, and weaken Palestinian state institutions and the two-state solution,” the President said.
President Abbas briefed the Prime Minister on the implementation stages of President Trump’s plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which Palestine welcomed to stabilize the ceasefire, alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza, and move toward recovery and reconstruction.
The President emphasized that Palestine is working to ensure the continued delivery of government services in Gaza through effective coordination between Palestinian government institutions and the Committee for Gaza Strip Administration during the transitional phase, while maintaining administrative, legal, and security integration between the institutions of the single state in both the West Bank and Gaza, according to the principle of one system, one law, and one legitimate weapon.
President Abbas welcomed the operation of the Rafah crossing under the management of Palestinian Authority staff and the presence of European observers.
President Abbas emphasized that all parties must meet their obligations under the second-phase provisions, including the handover of Hamas weapons as agreed with mediators and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, to restore stability and allow the State of Palestine to fully exercise its responsibilities.
The President reaffirmed that Gaza is an integral part of the State of Palestine and rejected any guardianship or duality in laws or systems between the West Bank and Gaza within one homeland.
In conclusion, President Abbas reiterated the commitment to continue joint coordination with the Kingdom of Norway and partners to implement the outcomes of the New York Declaration and achieve peace based on international legitimacy resolutions, ending the occupation and enabling a sovereign, independent State of Palestine to live alongside Israel in security, peace, and good neighborliness.
