JENIN, August 31, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation authorities established a new settlement named “Noa” on Monday, south of the settlements of Ganim and Kadim, which were built on Palestinian-owned land southeast of Jenin.

A ceremony marking the establishment of the settlement was held in the presence of several Israeli ministers and Knesset members, reflecting growing official Israeli support for settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The establishment of “Noa” comes amid the escalating Israeli settlement project in the northern West Bank, particularly in areas from which Israeli settlements were evacuated in 2005 as part of the “Disengagement” plan. The area has recently witnessed the establishment of settlement outposts, expanded land leveling and road construction, and the seizure of Palestinian land.

The establishment of the new settlement is part of a broader plan to impose new settlement realities on the ground by establishing new settlement communities and expanding existing ones, threatening Palestinian agricultural land and the geographic contiguity between towns and cities in Jenin Governorate and its surrounding areas.
