RAMALLAH, August 31, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists forced the family of Palestinian resident Bashir Naeem Kouna to leave their home in the village of al-Taybeh, east of Ramallah, just one week after they moved in, following continued colonists' attacks and threats.

Kouna said in a video he posted that colonists began frequenting the area around the house in May 2026, using quad bikes, before their attacks escalated to insulting him and his son and assaulting them at the entrance to the house. He said they also attempted to steal property and vandalized the area surrounding the home.

He added that colonists recently raided the house at dawn, stole surveillance cameras, cut the internet cables and the fence surrounding the property, and brought their livestock onto the land to graze on crops.

Kouna explained that the repeated attacks created a climate of fear among his family members, forcing them to leave the house urgently out of concern for their safety. He said he had spent more than one million shekels building the house, which took seven years to complete, and had obtained the necessary legal permits from the municipality.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli settlers carried out 3,488 attacks in the West Bank during the first half of this year, killing 17 Palestinians and fully or partially displacing 26 Bedouin and herding communities, in addition to establishing 42 settlement outposts.
