Israeli colonists fence off Palestinian-owned land south of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, August 31, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Monday fenced off Palestinian-owned land in the Jabal al-Qarn area of al-Minya town, south of Bethlehem, according to a local source.

Ahmed Qawazbeh, head of the al-Minya Village Council, said that colonists continued to fence off land near a recently-established colonial outpost in the area, amid fears that the move is a prelude to cultivating the land and taking it over.

He appealed to landowners and relevant legal authorities to take the necessary legal measures to protect the land and landowners’ rights.

The Jabal al-Qarn area in al-Minya town has witnessed repeated colonist attacks targeting Palestinians’ homes, farms, and water and electricity sources.

On August 13, colonists attacked the home and farm of the al-Jabareen family in the area, stealing around 100 sheep and a vehicle, damaging solar power equipment, and cutting a water pipeline.
