RAMALLAH, January 13, 2025 (WAFA) – The Government Communication Center at the Prime Minister’s Office today released its 20th weekly Situation Report, offering a comprehensive overview of the ongoing developments in occupied Palestine, with a particular focus on the escalating humanitarian crisis in the war-torn Gaza Strip.
The report sheds light on the continuous and systematic violations of Palestinian rights by the Israeli occupation, emphasizing the severe impact on the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, where the humanitarian situation has reached unprecedented levels of hardship.

Death Toll in Gaza Underreported:
A Lancet study reveals that the number of Palestinians killed during the first nine months of the Israeli war on Gaza is 40% higher than official records. Analysis estimates death toll by end of June was 64,260, with 59% being women, children and people over 65.
Humanitarian Collapse in Gaza:
International organizations warn that life-saving efforts in Gaza are at a breaking point. Rising famine, freezing conditions, and lack of shelter continue to cut more innocent lives short, including at least 74 children’s lives in the first week of 2025.
Israel Blocks UN Probe on Sexual Violence:
Israel has rejected a UN investigation into allegations of sexual violence, preventing access to Israeli detention centers to investigate reports of sexual assaults and torture by Israeli soldiers against Palestinian detainees.
Call for Accountability on Sexual Violence:
The Ministry of Women’s Affairs condemned Israel’s refusal to allow the UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict access to Israel’s detention centers, urging international pressure to grant investigative powers to the UN delegation for probing sexual crimes against Palestinian prisoners.
Land Seizure in Occupied Jerusalem:
Israel has confiscated 262 dunams of Palestinian land in northeast Jerusalem for settler road expansions, further threatening Palestinian land ownership and livelihoods.
Prime Minister’s Directives on Humanitarian Aid:
Dr. Mohammad Mustafa emphasized the Government’s commitment to addressing aid exploitation, instructing authorities to take action against violations. He reaffirmed UNRWA’s vital role in supporting Palestine refugees, urging unwavering international support for the agency.
