ICRC facilitates transfer of 60 released detainees to Nasser Medical Complex

GAZA, July 27, 2026 (WAFA) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced on Monday that it had facilitated the transfer of 60 released detainees through the Karem Abu Salem crossing to Khan Younis.

It added in a statement that the released detainees were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex, noting that it helped restore contact and reunite them with their families.

The ICRC pointed it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,500 released detainees through this mechanism since 2023.

The organization reiterated that it has been unable to access Palestinian detainees held in Israeli detention facilities since October 2023, calling for it to be informed of the fate and whereabouts of all detainees and to be granted access to visit them.

It stressed that international humanitarian law requires detainees to be treated humanely, held in appropriate conditions of detention, and allowed to communicate with their families.

It added that many Palestinian families are still awaiting information about their detained relatives amid growing concerns for their health and well-being, affirming that it will continue its dialogue with the Israeli occupation authorities with the aim of resuming visits to all Palestinian detainees.
