QALQILYA, July 27, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, began bulldozing Palestinian-owned land on Monday in the village of Jit, east of Qalqilya.

The head of the village council, Jamal Yamin, told WAFA that that colonists’ machinery stormed the southern part of the village, known as al-Bayad, and began bulldozing large areas of land and constructing roads, with the aim of annexing the area for the benefit of the illegal settlement of Gilead.

He added that the targeted area is estimated at between 200 and 300 dunams, noting that the continued bulldozing and attacks threaten the seizure of these lands and their annexation to the settlement.

He emphasized that these attacks are not the first of their kind, as the area has repeatedly been subjected to land leveling and road construction by the occupation forces and colonists, with the aim of settlement expansion and the seizure of Palestinian land.

In a separate incident, Israeli forces began bulldozing land in the eastern part of Qalqilya to expand the illegal settlement of Tzufim. The bulldozing affected an area estimated at approximately five dunams of agricultural land.

Munif Nazzal, the official in charge of settlement affairs in the Qalqilya Governorate, told WAFA that this bulldozing comes after the occupation authorities issued a military order to bulldoze and remove trees from approximately 31,713 dunams of land belonging to Qalqilya and the town of Azzun.

He explained that Israeli authorities did not grant farmers the legally required  48-hour period to object, nor did they conduct the necessary field survey to identify the targeted lands. Instead, they began bulldozing immediately after the military order was issued, causing farmers losses estimated at thousands of shekels.
