Colonists establish new outpost near Nabi Musa east of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, July 27, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists established a new colonial outpost near the Nabi Musa shrine, east of occupied Jerusalem, on Monday, as part of continued settlement expansion in the area.

According to the Jerusalem Governorate, colonists began setting up the outpost in the vicinity of the Nabi Musa shrine in a move aimed at creating new facts on the ground and expanding control over Palestinian land in the area.

The area stretching between Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley has witnessed continued escalation in settlement activity, including the establishment of colonial outposts and the seizure of grazing and agricultural land, threatening the Palestinian presence and undermining the territorial contiguity of Palestinian communities.

The development comes amid an accelerating expansion of colonial Israeli settlements across the occupied West Bank, particularly around occupied Jerusalem, alongside a rise in attacks by Israeli colonists under the protection of Israeli forces.
