Israeli forces order demolition of buildings housing 18 shops, two apartments in Jenin

JENIN, July 27, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces issued demolition notices for three buildings containing 18 commercial shops and two apartments near the village of Anza, south of Jenin. The owners were given only 40 minutes to evacuate before carrying out the demolition.

Hisham Hantouli, the owner of one of the buildings, told WAFA that an Israeli military vehicle arrived at the site and informed the shop owners and residents that they must evacuate within 40 minutes before the buildings are demolished.

He added that the case is still pending before Israeli courts and that the building owners had previously obtained an exemption that halted the demolition order. However, the occupation authorities returned today and instructed them to evacuate the buildings immediately.

Hantouli noted that the shop owners have begun evacuating their shops, while the two occupied residential apartments were also being evacuated.
