PLO Executive Committee Condemns Hamas Disruption for Dialogue

RAMALLAH, November 12, 2008 (WAFA)- Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee reaffirmed, Wednesday, its commitment to the Egyptian Initiative for Palestinian national dialogue, despite Hamas attempts to disrupt efforts exerted in reaching Palestinian national Unity.

 

In a meeting held, Wednesday, in the West Bank city of Ramallah, the PLO Executive Committee held Hamas responsible for postponing the Palestinian National Dialogue Conference in Cairo. The Committee condemned Hamas repetitive attempts to disrupt the efforts exerted by Egypt in the Palestinian national dialogue.

 

The Executive Committee reaffirmed its commitment to the Egyptian Initiative, saying that, 'PLO is willing to pursue the dialogue based on the Egyptian Initiative's principles.'

 

The Committee called on Hamas to retract its unreasonable conditions and claims, to stop putting obstacles in the way of reconciliation, in order to pursue the Dialogue. It also called on the Egyptian Leadership to pursue their efforts for the Dialogue, when Hamas takes back its conditions, and commits to the Egyptian Initiative.
