GAZA, June 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip said on Tuesday that the death toll from the Israeli offensive has risen to 72,988, with 173,205 people injured since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.
According to the sources, hospitals across Gaza received eight bodies and 34 injured individuals over the past 24 hours.
They added that the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire declared on October 11 of last year has reached 978, while the number of injuries has risen to 3,097. In addition, 782 bodies have been recovered from various locations.
Medical officials noted that a number of victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, as rescue teams continue to face serious difficulties reaching affected areas.
