Health Minister: 2,000 blood units dispatched to Gaza as part of "Our Blood is One" campaign

RAMALLAH, June 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan announced the dispatch of a new shipment of blood units and blood derivatives to the Gaza Strip, totaling 2,000 units, as part of the tenth phase of the “Our Blood is One” blood donation campaign.

The shipment was transferred on Tuesday evening from the Central Blood Bank in Ramallah in accordance with approved technical protocols and standards governing the storage and transportation of blood products. The operation was carried out in cooperation and coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure the safe delivery of the supplies to hospitals across the Gaza Strip.

Abu Ramadan said the shipment comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to bolster the resilience of Gaza’s healthcare system and support hospitals in providing treatment to the wounded and patients amid the severe humanitarian and health challenges resulting from the continued blockade and aggression.

He added that the “Our Blood is One” campaign will continue through successive phases to help meet the needs of blood banks in the Gaza Strip, reflecting the unity and solidarity of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza.

He praised the contributions of blood donors, medical personnel, blood bank staff and the World Health Organization for their efforts in facilitating the transfer of the shipments.

He added that the shipment will help enhance hospitals’ capacity to meet the growing needs of wounded individuals and patients, reaffirming the Ministry's commitment to meeting blood supply needs on a regular basis.
