GALILEE, June 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities on Tuesday demolished a home in the town of Abilene in the Galilee region inside the 1948 territories, under heavy police protection.
The demolition targeted a house near the Abu Shihab neighborhood belonging to the family of Nasser Ali Musa, whose sons were also reportedly detained.
Residents expressed anger over the demolition, saying the owners had made repeated efforts to obtain the necessary building permits but faced ongoing obstacles.
The demolition is part of a broader policy targeting homes in Arab towns under the pretext of unlicensed construction, amid a chronic planning crisis and a shortage of structural and detailed plans that would allow for urban expansion and legal permitting.
These policies coincide with continued restrictions on development in Arab municipalities, where planning and interior authorities have been accused of withholding approval for master plans and expansion schemes, exacerbating the housing crisis.
