Lands Authority condemns raid on land settlement office in Jerusalem's Beit Sira

JERUSALEM, June 9, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Lands Authority condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ raid on the land settlement office in Beit Sira village, west of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and the damage and destruction caused to its contents and facilities, describing it as a new attack targeting Palestinian national institutions and efforts to protect citizens’ land and property rights.

In a statement, the authority said the raid is part of ongoing Israeli policies targeting Palestinian land and national institutions, aiming to obstruct land settlement and registration processes intended to تثبيت real estate rights and protect Palestinian ownership according to applicable legal frameworks.

It added that targeting land settlement offices constitutes a direct assault on efforts to organize property rights and a violation of international law and conventions guaranteeing protection for civilian institutions and workers.

The Minister of Lands Authority, Ala’ al-Tamimi, said technical teams immediately began assessing the damage and stressed that operations at the Beit Sira office would continue despite the attack, affirming the authority’s commitment to providing services and continuing land settlement work.

He added that the attack would not deter the authority from continuing its settlement projects across all governorates, emphasizing that offices continue their work despite challenges imposed by occupation measures.

A delegation including senior officials visited the office to assess damages and ensure service continuity, with the Palestinian police documenting the incident and taking necessary procedures.

The authority called on the international community and human rights organizations to assume responsibility regarding ongoing violations against Palestinian land and institutions and to work to stop these attacks and hold the occupation accountable.
