RAMALLAH, August 28, 2026 (WAFA) – The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 900 fires set by Israeli occupation forces and colonists targeting Palestinian properties, homes, vehicles, and facilities from the beginning of 2023 through July 10, 2026.
Of these, 799 fires (88.8%) were set by colonists, while 101 fires (11.2%) were caused by the Israeli occupation army.
The findings were published in an analytical assessment paper by the Commission, which described colonist-led arson as one of the most prominent terrorist tools deployed against Palestinians.
The data revealed a steady increase in the number of annual fires, rising from 217 in 2023 to 264 in 2024, and to 307 in 2025, with an additional 112 fires recorded in 2026 through July 10.
A total of 552 fires were concentrated in the Nablus and Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorates alone, accounting for 61.3% of the 900 documented fires.
The Commission emphasized that the steady increase and repeated occurrence of these fires reflect an organized, systemic pattern explicitly targeting Palestinian security, property, and livelihoods.
