UN Commission: Israeli authorities directly involved in colonists’ attacks against Palestinians

GENEVA, June 9, 2026 (WAFA) –The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory said in a new report on Tuesday that Israeli authorities are directly involved in colonists’ attacks, which have resulted in the killing, injury, and displacement of Palestinians across the occupied West Bank.

In its report, the Commission said Palestinian civilians are systematically and deliberately subjected to gross human rights violations.

The Commission explained that colonists’ violence in the West Bank serves not only as a tool to implement Israeli state policies but also targets the same strategic objectives of maintaining the illegal occupation, annexing Palestinian land, and displacing Palestinians from their territories.

It noted that acts of harassment and intimidation perpetrated by colonists against Palestinian women and girls severely restrict their daily activities, preventing them from accessing public spaces, schools, and workplaces.

Chair of the Commission Srinivasan Muralidhar said violence by colonists is the direct outcome of Israeli policies that support, enable and protect their actions.

He added that Israel must stop supporting this violence and ensure that its security forces safeguard the Palestinian civilian population.

The Commission’s report will be presented to the Human Rights Council’s 62nd session on 15 June 2026 in Geneva.
