SALFIT, June 9, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained two Palestinian men from the village of Rafat, west of Salfit Governorate, during a raid carried out in the village before dawn on Tuesday.

Local sources told WAFA that Israeli troops stormed the village, raided and searched several homes, and detained Qutaiba Issa Ayyash and Yahya Younis Marai Ayyash.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued for a third consecutive day to block the northern entrance to the city of Salfit, disrupting the movement of residents and vehicles and forcing commuters to use longer and more difficult alternative routes, further exacerbating daily hardships.

Salfit Governorate has witnessed an ongoing escalation in Israeli military measures, including nightly incursions, detention campaigns, and the closure of entrances and main roads. The area has also experienced repeated attacks by Israeli settlers targeting Palestinian residents and their property, particularly in villages and towns adjacent to settlements established on lands belonging to the governorate.
