JERUSALEM, September 5, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Monday opened fire at a Palestinian vehicle in Shufat refugee camp, northeast of Jerusalem, killing one person and injuring another, according to witnesses and Israeli police.
The dead Palestinian was identified Mustafa Nimer. The other person, who received moderate injuries and who was not yet identified, was arrested.
Israeli police claimed that a border guard unit operating in the camp notice a car driving fast toward its members. When the driver failed to heed orders to stop, said the police, fire was opened at the vehicle killing Nimer and injuring anther.
Local residents dismissed the Israeli narrative and maintained that Nimer was killed in cold blood.
