TULKARM, May 21, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 115th consecutive day, and on the 102nd day in the Nur Shams camp, amidst escalating violence and heavy military reinforcements.
WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces are continuing their escalation on the ground through repeated raids on the city and the two camps. They are using their military vehicles to move around neighborhoods and main streets around the clock, provocatively sounding their horns and driving against traffic. They also set up surprise checkpoints, particularly in the city center, Nablus Street, and Shuweika Roundabout in the northern neighborhood.
At dawn, an infantry unit stormed the Dhnaba suburb east of the city, coming from the Nur Shams camp, and patrolled the main streets, conducting extensive searches and combing operations. They arrested the young man, Amara Mar'i, from his home in the Rashid neighborhood in the area.
Meanwhile, the occupation continues to impose a stifling siege on the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, accompanied by occasional gunfire and explosions.
Eyewitnesses reported that occupation soldiers carried out bombings in the wooded area opposite Nur Shams camp, without providing any details. Meanwhile, forcibly displaced families are prevented from returning to their homes or even losing their property, and are subjected to pursuit and gunfire when attempting to approach.
Meanwhile, local sources reported that occupation forces yesterday forced a number of families in Jabal al-Salihin in Nur Shams camp to evacuate their homes, while an occupation bulldozer blocked the stadium street near the wooded areas with earth mounds.
In recent days, Nur Shams camp has witnessed a demolition campaign that has affected more than 20 residential buildings in its main neighborhoods, damaging neighboring buildings. This is part of the occupation's plan to demolish 106 buildings in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps to open roads and alter their geographical features.
The occupation forces also continue to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, after forcibly evacuating their residents and converting them into military barracks. Some of these buildings have been under occupation for more than two months.
The ongoing aggression has so far resulted in the killing of 13 civilians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens have also been wounded and detained, and the widespread destruction of infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles has been a result of demolition, arson, and looting.
This escalation has led to the displacement of more than 4,200 families from the two camps, representing over 25,000 residents. It has also led to the complete destruction of more than 400 homes and the partial destruction of 2,573 others. The entrances and alleys of the camps have been closed off with earth mounds, transforming them into isolated areas almost devoid of any signs of life.
