RAMALLAH, May 21, 2025 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed that Israeli forces opened live fire at a diplomatic delegation during a field visit near a military checkpoint set up by Israeli troops at the entrance to Jenin refugee camp. The incident was captured on camera.
The Ministry noted that the visit had been coordinated and publicly announced ten days in advance. The delegation included ambassadors, consuls, and representatives from 32 countries and international organizations. The Ministry affirmed that the delegation traveled in clearly marked vehicles bearing distinctive diplomatic license plates and held a meeting with the Governor of Jenin and local community leaders for over two hours.
Following the meeting, the delegation proceeded in a diplomatic convoy to a checkpoint installed by Israeli forces. They remained at the site for more than 15 minutes while receiving a briefing on the situation in the camp from the Governor, accompanied by numerous journalists. During this time, Israeli forces began firing live rounds in the direction of the delegation.
