GAZA, October 31, 2026 (WAFA) – Two girls died early Saturday from injuries sustained in a fire that broke out the previous evening in a tent sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Medical sources identified the girls as Habiba Zannoun and Aysal Abu Shaiban, saying they succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire.
Similar fires have occurred in displacement camps across the Gaza Strip, claiming lives, including those of children, and leaving others with burns. The incidents have taken place amid the harsh living conditions faced by displaced families, who are sheltering in tents that lack basic safety and security measures.
