Knesset elections: Voter turnout reaches 55.7% by 4 pm

TEL AVIV, October 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli sources said on Tuesday that voter turnout in the Knesset elections have reached 55.7% by 4 pm.

Polling stations across Israel and the 1948 Territories opened on Tuesday morning for voters to elect members of the 26th Knesset, with 36 electoral lists competing for 120 seats.

According to data from the Israeli Central Elections Committee, approximately 7.33 million voters are eligible to cast ballots.

The elections are being conducted under a proportional representation system, which requires an electoral list to secure at least 3.25% of valid votes to qualify for seat allocation. Surplus-vote agreements between lists also play a role in determining the distribution of the remaining seats.
