Israeli colonists brutally assault Palestinian olive pickers south of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, October 31, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian olive pickers on Saturday in the village of Marah Rabah, south of Bethlehem.

Security sources told WAFA correspondent that dozens of colonists assaulted olive pickers on land near the village’s eastern entrance before forcing them to leave at gunpoint.

The sources noted that colonists  have escalated their attacks on olive pickers, with the latest incident occurring on Friday in the Abu Njeim area, where they assaulted foreign solidarity activists.

On Friday, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission documented 22 attacks by Israeli forces and colonists targeting olive pickers and their land across five West Bank governorates.

The attacks included Palestinians being beaten and assaulted with stones and pepper spray; the detention of farmers and foreign solidarity activists; the detention of dozens of others; the firing of live ammunition and tear gas canisters; the theft of olive harvests and harvesting equipment; and the burning of an agricultural facility. They also included the establishment of new settlement structures and the expansion of existing ones on Palestinian land.
