RAMALLAH,
March 31, 2015 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted on
Tuesday the 39th anniversary of the Land Day, and the popular
protests which took place across the West Bank, Gaza and in Arab towns in
Israel on this occasion.
The
dailies also highlighted that the Israeli Planning and Construction Committee
approved the construction of 142 settlement units in Jabal Abu Ghneim, referred
to by Israel as ‘Har Homa’ in reference to the illegal settlement constructed
on its land in East Jerusalem.
Al-Ayyam
and al-Quds said the Israeli authorities notified local residents of Um al-Kheir,
south of Hebron, of orders to demolish 14 residential structures in the
village.
Al-Quds
and al-Hayat al-Jadida said the State of Palestine will officially join the
International Criminal Court as of next Wednesday.
Al-Ayyam
and al-Quds quoted Israeli media sources saying the Israeli government’s recent
decision to release the Palestinian Authority’s tax revenues, now withheld for
the third month, was “conditional,” despite that a senior PA official had
already denied this.
Al-Ayyam
and al-Hayat al-Jadida said a Hamas official was shot dead by unknown
assailants in al-Yarmouk refugee camp, south of Damascus.
Al-Hayat
al-Jadida said Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah approved a national plan to
sponsor the talented and creative individuals.
Al-Ayyam
said al-Arabi al-Jadeed daily uncovered that the Israeli government has asked
European parties to mediate with Hamas on a potential prisoner swap deal. Al-Qassam
Brigades announced on July 20 that two Israeli soldiers identified as Aron
Shaul and Hadar Goldin were captured by Hamas and are being kept prisoners.
