JERUSALEM, August 25, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today closed the Beit Iksa military checkpoint northwest of occupied Jerusalem in both directions without prior notice, obstructing residents' movement to and from the village.

Residents said that Israeli forces completely closed the checkpoint, while local reports indicated that the closure would last for about three hours, although no reason was given for the measure.

According to local accounts, the village council was not notified in advance of the decision to close the checkpoint.

The Beit Iksa checkpoint is the village's only access point. The village has faced severe movement restrictions for years, with Israeli forces repeatedly tightening measures at the checkpoint and obstructing residents' movement.
