WASHINGTON, October 26, 2026 (WAFA) — American human rights organizations have called on the administration of President Donald Trump and members of Congress to intervene immediately to halt escalating Israeli violations in the occupied West Bank. They warned against the continued policies of forced displacement and collective punishment, citing the situation that has unfolded in the city of Hebron over the past few days, as well as attacks by settlers against Palestinians.
Human rights groups have accused the Israeli government of carrying out a systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing and collective punishment in the West Bank. They assert that these practices constitute war crimes and flagrant violations of international law, mirroring the methods Israel has employed in the Gaza Strip.
The organizations emphasized the urgent need for the U.S. administration and Congress to pressure the Israeli government to immediately cease forced displacement and collective punishment. They also called for an end to settler attacks—assaults that these groups allege are supported by Israeli authorities, who they claim also provide protection to the perpetrators.
The human rights groups warned that the continuation of these policies could lead to a repeat of the Gaza scenario in the West Bank. They urged Washington to take immediate steps to prevent Benjamin Netanyahu’s government from expanding the displacement and destruction inflicted upon the Palestinian population.
