RAMALLAH, July 22, 2026 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates extended condolences to India over the victims of floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains in the northern and northeastern regions of the country, which resulted in dozens of casualties.

The ministry also extended condolences to Afghanistan over the victims of floods and flash floods that swept through the city of Baroon in Nuristan Province, eastern Afghanistan, causing a large number of casualties, injuries, and missing persons, in addition to extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and property.

It expressed hope that search and rescue teams and relevant authorities would succeed in reaching and rescuing the missing people and continue their efforts to alleviate the effects of this humanitarian disaster.

The ministry affirmed the State of Palestine’s full solidarity with India and Afghanistan, as well as their governments and peoples, during this difficult time, expressing confidence in the ability of the relevant authorities and institutions to mitigate the impact of these disasters, address their repercussions, and support the recovery of affected areas so they can return to normal conditions as soon as possible.
