RAMALLAH, October 19, 2026 (WAFA) — Two Palestinian residents were injured on Monday after being beaten by colonists in the town of Turmus Ayya and the village of Deir Abu Mash'al, northwest of Ramallah. Meanwhile, colonists attempted to set two homes on fire in Turmus Ayya.
Awad Abu Samra, a member of the Turmus Ayya local council, stated that a group of colonists launched a surprise attack on homes in the Wadi Ammar and Al-Naba'at areas, located in the eastern part of the town. The colonists attempted to set two houses ablaze after first igniting a vehicle parked in front of them.
He added that the colonists beat a resident, Mohammad Saket Abu Kawk—who holds American citizenship—striking him on the head. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, where his condition is described as stable but moderate.
Abu Samra noted that occupation forces later intervened in Turmus Ayya, evacuating residents from the area surrounding the targeted homes, while several farmers continued to harvest olives nearby.
In the village of Deir Abu Mash'al, northwest of Ramallah, another resident was injured after being beaten by colonists, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. The organization reported that its medical teams attended to the injured individual and transported him to a medical center for treatment.
