Israeli forces detain three Palestinians following colonist attack on olive pickers south of Hebron

HEBRON, October 19, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained three Palestinians on Monday evening following an attack by colonists, protected by Israeli forces, on Palestinian olive pickers south of Hebron.

The colonists assaulted the farmers and stole their harvested olives, agricultural equipment, and money.

Activist Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that a group of colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked farmers from the Mahaniyeh and Dajaajneh families while they were harvesting olives in the Wadi Abu Khashabeh area east of Yatta. The colonists assaulted the farmers and stole their harvested olives and agricultural equipment.

He added that Israeli occupation forces initially detained several farmers before detaining Karam Walid al-Dajaajneh, Naseem Yousef al-Dajaajneh, and Yazan Ibrahim al-Dajaajneh.

In a related incident, colonists assaulted farmer Qassem Abu Tuhfeh while he was harvesting olives in the al-Batiya area near al-Karmel. Colonists beat him and stole his olive harvest and wallet containing 500 shekels.

In the village of Sikka, west of Dura, colonists also drove cattle into Palestinian fields and among olive trees, causing damage.
