RAMALLAH, June 22, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces detained at least 26 Palestinians in overnight raids across the occupied West Bank on Sunday, including two women, according to local and security sources.
In Bethlehem, 16 Palestinians were detained after Israeli troops stormed Dheisheh refugee camp in the early hours of the morning.
Sources told WAFA that Israeli forces raided and ransacked numerous homes in the camp, causing significant damage during the searches before detaining the individuals.
Meanwhile, in the Nablus area, Israeli forces carried out a series of incursions into several villages. In the northern village of Burqa, six residents were detained following home raids marked by extensive property destruction.
Sources also reported that Israeli soldiers vandalized the village’s Martyrs' Monument, cutting down a statue of the iconic Palestinian symbol "Handala" and spray-painting racist graffiti over the names of the fallen.
In separate raids, Israeli military vehicles stormed the town of Huwara and the village of Qaryut, both south of Nablus. During the incursions, two women were detained: Hiyam Hikmat Shehadeh, 56, from Huwara, and Salam Rizqallah Kassab, 20, from Qaryut.
In Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, at least two Palestinians were detained following Israeli military raids on their homes in the villages of Kafr Dan and Kafr Qud.
