RAMALLAH, August 27, 2026 (WAFA) – The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said Thursday that the health condition of wounded Palestinian detainee Os Maatan, 25, from Burqa east of Ramallah, has stabilized following surgery on his left leg.
According to the commission, surgeons inserted a metal plate to stabilize the bone, which was shattered by live ammunition.
Maatan, a civil engineer, was shot by Israeli forces at the “Karmelo” military checkpoint on August 23. He is scheduled to appear before an Israeli military court at Ofer detention facility on Thursday for a hearing on the extension of his detention.
