RAMALLAH, August 31, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities have issued a four-month administrative detention order against the 14-year-old child Ammar Subhi Abdul Karim from the town of Abwein, north of Ramallah.
The child's father said that the occupation forces broke into the house on 21 of this month and detained his son Ammar in a room, interrogated him and brutally assaulted him, causing him bruises,
He was later detained and transferred to the Israeli prison of Ofer, adding that the occupation court issued an administrative detention order against Ammar for four months.
According to the Addameer Foundation, the child Ammar is one of more than 250 children in the occupation prisons, and one of 40 children who are placed under arbitrary administrative detention,
The occupation authorities have escalated detentions and the use of administrative detention orders against Palestinian detainees since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023. Today, more than 3,400 administrative detainees are held in occupation prisons, as part of the policy of collective punishment.
